JOHN PATTEN thinks it appropriate that he and others should stop children in the street who are wearing school uniform and demand to know why they are not in school. Why stop there?
All Members of Parliament should be compelled to wear uniform so that the public could stop them and demand to know why they are not in the House. This would help prevent them from getting up to mischief, such as being appointed highly paid directors of newly privatised companies, or consultants to organisations of dubious repute.
