Sir: David Morrison might like to claim that young people don't like BBC youth shows - 'based' on the findings of his report The Role of Radio 1 in People's Lives ('Young people 'passionate' about Radio 1', Home News, 27 October).

But not once in his substantial report do young people discuss - let alone criticise - our programmes. In fact, within the last two years, audiences for our collective Def II youth programmes on BBC 2 have increased by 50 per cent.
