l You encourage us to follow in Mr Darcy's footsteps only to be frustrated by the National Trust whose properties were used in the BBC's Pride and Prejudice ("Next weekend", Real Life, 29 October). What a nonsense it is that the Trust hibernates every winter. Why not use its centenary year to review this policy?
