l The bust in the photograph accompanying the article "Split would break Canada's heart" (29 October) is that of Wilfrid Laurier, Canada's eighth prime minister who was in office from 1896 to 1911, and not its first, Sir John Macdonald. Visitors to Canada might recognise Laurier's face from the $5 bill.
