Sir: One case of chickenpox in the England cricket team is unlucky. A second case two weeks later is downright sloppy. On the day that the first case appeared, it would have been a simple matter to test each of the other players to see who was sus ceptible to chickenpox. Anyone who was at risk of contracting chickenpox could then have been given a dose of VZIG (varicella-zoster immunoglobin), thereby preventing a second serious case of chickenpox and saving the reputation of English cricket.
