WHAT was the point of David Thomson's essay "The man who should be king" (Review, 19 March) on Alan Bennett, other than to provide its author with a few mean little thrills? Isn't wishing Bennett were more macho rather like calling Anthony Hopkins a decent actor chappie but no Schwarzenegger?
