Alan Watkins (18 August) bases his criticism of Channel 4's Secret History documentary on the premise that it denied that Harold Wilson envisaged resigning two years into his final term. Near the beginning, Joe Haines says: "Harold told us, and he had also told Mary, that he was going to give it two years and no more".
