PAUL SIMON's comments ("I'll take the Royal out of Berkshire", 3 March) do not reflect the views of the Liberal Democrat Party, nor the County Council of Royal Berkshire. We take tremendous pride in our Royal title. I wish to disassociate the County Council from anti-monarchist remarks of this nature. Berkshire's Royal title is a source of considerable benefit, not least in developing economic, cultural and education links with our European partners.
