ALTHOUGH I appreciate David Edgar's attempt to speak up for R D Laing, 'When did you last see your guru?' (Review, 18 September), he is out of his depth when he writes that Laing was 'a monstrous personality, who treated both his families appallingly'. Why doesn't Edgar consult Laing's second family before speaking on their behalf and making such an untrue statement?
