"309 million miles from the nearest garage" is a catchy headline and, if true, of more scientific interest than pictures of rocks (6 July). Either Mars or the Earth has moved considerably in its orbit and light is travelling more than twice as fast as normal, both astounding discoveries, or you should distinguish the distance travelled to Mars (309 million miles), from the current distance to that planet (about 110 million miles).
