I Disagree with your comparison of the Conservatives to a stranded whale ("Save the Tartan Tory!", 30 March). The dire straits they find themselves in are a result of their own actions, consciously pursued despite conse- quences. The beached whale is a noble, dignified creature who has done us no harm and is worthy of any attempt to rescue it. Spot the difference now?
