Ian Griffiths seems unaware of one of Angela Knight's, MP, reasons for pursuing the building societies ("Building societies Bill faces the axe", Business, 17 November). Their actions in depriving those members who are unable to go to branches and are therefore not "First Names" of the rights to receive bonuses is scandalous. She is quite right to try and see that the societies act fairly by all their members.
