I was interested to see that John Carlin regards Harry Truman as a two-term president even though he was only to serve one full term in his own right ("Smart work, Bill...", 3 November). Shouldn't he also have included Lyndon Johnson as a two-timer, for he, too, assumed the presidency on the death of the incumbent before trouncing Barry Goldwater in 1964?
