Letter: Career first

JULIA KENT (Letters, 20 November) illustrates much of what is wrong with attitudes towards the workplace today.

Mothers who seek careers nevertheless, understandably, put their families first and therefore require their jobs to fit in with their family obligations.

Careers which are pursued to support families must be given priority over them.

Tom Peters has used as his guideline the term excellence; the approach of the ilk of Julia Kent can only lead to mediocrity.
