YOUR article "Whisky tax's pounds 100m hangover" (11 June) criticises Kenneth Clarke for raising tax on whisky, with the effect of reducing sales by 26 per cent. If, however, you considered whisky's adverse effects on health, family life etc, you would see the tax as beneficial.
