REFERRING to Great Railway Disasters No 63 "So you want to see out of the train windows?" (31 March), some years ago the number 40 bus, running through the City, had most of the lower-deck windows plastered with mud to such an extent that the Chief Constable, City of London Police, had them stopped and sent back to depot for immediate cleaning under the regulations covering Public Service Vehicles Condition and Fitness for use. He brooked no excuses.
Surely these regulations apply equally to trains in public service?
