JONATHAN Foster's article 'Entryism or racism' (25 September) was alarmist and presented the efforts of some Asian people to become involved in the political process as negative:
'. . . with hundreds of applications, all Asian names . . . alarm bells rang . . .'
'. . . large numbers of Asians abruptly apply to join the party . . .'
The article was written from the perspective of a white organisation under siege, rather than of the attempts of members of a minority group organising themselves to gain representation. The article appeared to give second place to the allegations of racism.
