Letter: Nose relief
PHILIP HUNTER (Letters, 8 May) assumes that the hay fever spectacles airshield in Business on Sunday (1 May) helps only the eyes and not the nose. I am happy to say that clinical trials carried out last December in New Zealand showed significant improvement in nasal symptoms also. It is suggested that this is because, when the tears drain into the nose in the normal way, they carry with them pollen and the products of the eye inflammation. Thus, by keeping pollen out of the eyes, the airshield brings overall relief from hay fever symptoms.
