Letter : Not so rich water bosses

Your articles "Scandal of the filthy rich water bosses" and "How the polluters get paid" (11 August), based on research by Frank Dobson's office, overstate Anglian Water's chairman's salary by 48 per cent and the managing director's by 55 per cent. The calculations presumed that Robin Gourlay, our chairman, receives a bonus and long- term incentive plan: he does not. Alan Smith, managing director, is shown as holding share options and the presumption is made that he will earn both a maximum bonus and maximum long-term incentive plan.
