FURTHER to David Edgar's ``Who'd be a playwright?'' (27 November), my new play has just been produced by the Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich. The commitment of the company and the quality of the production in every aspect was brilliant. It ran for a prescribed two weeks and during the second week the theatre was almost full each night with a sell-out on the final night.

Please don't despair of new plays with contemporary issues in repertory theatres finding receptive audiences.
