Letter: Self deluded

In The US, women who are pregnant and take drugs have been prosecuted for damaging their unborn child. Courtney Love had to prove she was fit to keep her child, because she was on heroin. Will Self is right about hypocrisy over drugs ("Self admits taking heroin on PM's jet", 20 April). A male enfant terrible gets lucrative newspaper coverage of his angst over his heroin problem. No one has questioned him over damage to his sperm through heroin, even though his girlfriend is pregnant. Plus ca change, eh?
