Sir: In your article on National Health Service pay awards, "Nurses lose out as doctors win 2.5 %" (10 February), you imply that GPs are paid £45 per house visit.

This is true for visits made between l0pm and 8am, but all other home visits do not attract any extra payments. Try costing a plumber to do a home call-out between these hours.
