l YOUR leader's suggestion that MPs should be given job descriptions to solve our parliamentary ills has to be questioned ("Tell MPs what their job is", 21 May). Job descriptions define what a job is and not what it might become. As such, they tend to reward the minimum required and discourage innovation. Haven't we got more than enough evidence of this type of behaviour in Parliament already?
