A good day for:

Lark Frantz, a court reporter from Florida who completed the typing of 500 pages of court hearings for which officials had been waiting since May 1994. A judge had become so angry at the delay that he ordered her jailed until the job was done.

A bad day for:

Kite-fliers, as a kite-flying festival in Lahore, Pakistan, ended with five dead and 150 injured. Celebratory gunfire killed one, others fell from roofs, and three were electrocuted trying to retrieve a kite from a high-voltage wire.
