Sweet Sweet Lies, The Haunt, Brighton

It's always the anti-romantics who are the truest romantics of all. In order to be disappointed by something, one needs to have been a believer in the first place. Anyone who's listened to ABC's The Lexicon Of Love will know that already.

Coconut cake

This is my version of a coconut cake from the American South. I love the sweet and nutty flavour of coconut. I cook with coconut milk a lot – at work we get in fresh ones, puréeing the flesh with water and straining to make a thick cream. This takes patience, though, as it does take quite a lot of work. Coconut milk from a tin will do nicely in this recipe.

Album: Kate Walsh, Light and Dark, (Blueberry Pie)

A third album by the Brighton-based songwriter. You may be familiar with her internet success two years ago, Tim's House. This is confessional pop manufactured for the age of social media: ooops-I've-said-it-now writing justified on the basis that, well, it's possible to say it.
