Thousands of demonstrators are lining central London’s streets to rally against the state visit of president Donald Trump.

Starting in Trafalgar Square, those taking part in the Together Against Trump protest plan to travel to Parliament Square via Embankment while the famous orange inflatable baby Trump blimp floats in the sky above them.

Groups taking part in the protest include the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Stop Trump Coalition, Stop The War Coalition, Stand Up To Racism and Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.

The majority of demonstrators have chosen to carry placards bearing slogans that critique Trump’s most controversial policies, such as "Migrants and refugees welcome here", which takes aim at his views on immigration.

But others have chosen to take a more didactic approach with their placards by bearing slogans like “lock him in the tower”, “dump Trump” and “go home”.
