Artist returns books to tree form

'How many trees does it take to make a book?' is a commonly asked question. But artist Kylie Stillman has found out how many books it takes to make a tree.

The Australian artist, 34, has recently exhibited a series of work entitled 'Recycled Library' at galleries at galleries in New Zealand, Australa and South Africa.

Her work uses hefty-looking tomes which she piles up and then sculpts from, cutting out pages to leave relief shapes with a scalpel.
