Works from the government's 13,500-piece art collection are to go on show at the Whitechapel Gallery in east London next year.
Peter Mandelson, chose a portrait of Queen Elizabeth I, while Lords Boateng selected Peas Are The New Beans by Bob and Roberta Smith (1999).
