Weekly arts agenda: Asia Top Gallery Hotel Art Fair, Museum Embankment Festival Frankfurt

During the week of August 23 contemporary artists will have their work installed in the bathrooms and bedrooms of Seoul's Shilla Hotel for the Asia Top Gallery Hotel Art Fair while in Germany art will be relocated out into the streets for the Museum Embankment Festival in Frankfurt.

The Asia Top Gallery Hotel Art Fair (AHAF) is an innovative art fair that will transform Seoul's Shilla Hotel into a gallery for the weekend. Installations will take over beds and sculptures will erupt out of bathtubs, providing a fun and original way for viewers to experience contemporary Asian artworks.

Museum Embankment Festival Frankfurt

For the three days of the Museum Embankment Festival, German galleries collaborate to display stunning pieces of artwork, borrowed from their gallery collections, along an 8 km stretch of riverbank in Frankfurt, Germany. Visitors can view the hundreds of masterpieces that line the riverbank while also enjoying the additional outdoors attractions such as music and drama performances that take place during the festival. Approximately 3 million people attend the free event each year.

The Shanghai Art Fair was established in 1997 and has since grown to become one of China's most important art fairs welcoming more than 1000 galleries from more than 50 countries. 2010 marks the 14th edition of the fair.
