Welcome to My Planet by Shannon Olson
The narrator of Olson's funny début novel is a student called Shannon Olson. About to hit 30, without a husband or a life, and with only two "maxed-out" credit cards to her name, Shannon tries to believe her therapist's advice that "loneliness is a really honest place to be." A cut above most confessional singleton fiction, Olson's witty and engaging book hones in on that commonly felt terror of not knowing when grown-up life is supposed to begin.
