Deadpool’s Ryan Reynolds urges men to check for testicular cancer in bizarre public service advert
‘Gentlemen, how well do you know your happy sack?’
Who’s the most appropriate person to urge young men to check for testicular cancer? Yes, of course, Marvel Comics’ Deadpool.
Hollywood actor, Ryan Reynolds, donned his fictional character’s outfit to deliver an important message about testicular cancer in a video called ‘Touch Yourself Tonight’.
“I’m sure you rummage around more than Mummy would like but it’s started you pay attention to your favourite pastime, because that bag of beans bouncing around your hand might be trying to kill you.”
“What? Yeah. Because testicular cancer is the most common form of cancer in men aged between 15-35. It’s time to fight back.”
Deadpool then explains the procedure of checking for cancer, referring to testicles as “man berries” and “smooth criminals”.
He warns, “Don’t get too excited though, you’re on a mission here.”
The antihero delivers his message in no uncertain terms: “If at any point you feel an unusual lump, size shift or irregularity, don’t ignore it like a p***y, man up and talk to your doctor, the alternative is not an option.”
The most creative word play is saved till the end.
“The next time you’re shopping for one in the sexy salad section, remember to tweak the tomatoes before you go cucumber crazy. Haha. Puns.”
