We’re very excited to have Ginger Baker perform at Field Day next year with his Jazz Confusion. Baker is a true artistic legend of the past 50 years; his list of credits reads like a who’s who of pop music.
He started the modern rock music ball rolling alongside Jack Bruce and Eric Clapton as Cream, helped introduce the world to the music of Fela Kuti, and even co-wrote a song with Gary Barlow for Take That. Delving even deeper reveals a whole wealth of great work – from percussion on Paul McCartney’s excellent Band on the Run record (recorded in Baker’s studio), to his work with George Harrison, Hawkwind and PiL.
By way of introduction we’ve pulled together some of our favourite moments from Ginger Baker’s past work, collaborations and highlighted a couple of artists he has worked with along the way too. Take a listen via Spotify below.
