The cinematic history of The Crow is complex, to say the least.

In the popular mindset, 1994's adaptation of the cult comic series will always be overshadowed by the tragic death of its star during filming; when Brandon Lee (son of Bruce) was accidentally killed by a defective blank, with only eight days left of shooting.

A shadow that's remained over countless attempts to reboot the series; a history which stretches back to 2008. seeing the likes of Bradley Cooper, Mark Wahlberg, Channing Tatum, James McAvoy, Ryan Gosling, Tom Hiddleston, Alexander Skarsgård, Luke Evans, Nicholas Hoult, Jack Huston, and Jack O'Connell variously eyed for the role. So, half of Hollywood's male population then.

However, The Crow looks finally to have found its star, hopefully for good; Mashable reports Aquaman and Game of Thrones actor Jason Momoa is officially in talks to play Eric Draven, the rock musician resurrected a year after his death - by a crow - to seek revenge upon those who murdered him and his fiancé.

Relativity has already gotten onboard Corin Hardy to direct the film, behind last year's breakout British-Irish horror The Hallow. Momoa had previously posted a picture of himself with Hardy to his Instagram page, alongside the caption: "The only way to officially seal the deal as men Is a pint of black beauty. @guinness #sealthedeal #wearemarriednowfucker. #greatnewstocome. #dreamjob #cantwaittotelltheworld".

The trick now is to find time in Momoa's schedule between his Justice League and Aquaman gigs over at Warner Bros.; with him also starring in Netflix's series Frontier and indie Braven.
