Avengers: Endgame - Trailer 2

Marvel fans are extremely worried about the fate of their favourite characters after learning that Chris Evans cried six times during the Avengers: Endgame premiere.

The actor, who has played Captain America since 2011, was in attendance at the film’s Los Angeles premiere on Monday and had a hard tie keeping it together.

“I have a lot of my friends and family here tonight, and a lot of them are right up here,” he told Variety. “We have this bond that transcends what we do for a living… I cried like six times [tonight].”

Now, Marvel has continually teased Endgame as – not only a sequel to 2018’s Infinity War – but an “epic conclusion” to the 22 films to have been released before it, from Iron Man (2008) right up until last month’s Captain Marvel.

But Evans’s comment has many concerned about the fate of Captain America and his fellow superheroes.

When added to the fact that the first reviews and reactions are teasing the most emotional blockbuster in years, it’s looking like Endgame could be the final stand for several characters.

Avengers: Endgame is released in UK cinemas on 25 April. You can read our review here as well as a ranking of every character here.
