The Babysitter’s Hana Mae Lee was scared of ‘ruining someone’s life’ during dangerous flamethrower stunt

Actor Hana Mae Lee has revealed that she feared she would “ruin someone’s life” during a dangerous stunt on the set of The Babysitter: Killer Queen.

Lee stars as Sonya in Netflix’s teen horror comedy, which is a follow up to 2017’s The Babysitter. The original film follows a young boy, Cole (Judah Lewis) who is tormented by his babysitter (Samara Weaving) and her satanic cult.

In one scene in the sequel, which was released on the streaming service on Thursday (10 September), Sonya takes a flamethrower into battle, with Lee revealing that she was only given one chance to get the shot right.

“[It] was scary because I was like, 'Oh my god, I could ruin this person's life if I do this incorrect,' because I could only do it once and also when I hit him it was real flames," she told TooFab.

“I was so scared and I was like, 'My face can't look scared because we had one take, but I hope I don't burn him… That was my number one concern, not just burning the stunt guy but also burning down the mountain.”

Babysitter: Killer Queen is set two years after its predecessor, with Cole (Lewis) coming to face with the cult again after trying to move on with his life.

Robbie Amell and Bella Thorne also star in the sequel, which is available to stream on Netflix now.
