Live By Night star Ben Affleck really wants you to stop asking him about The Batman

No one ever asked him about Live By Night

Considering he's the latest incarnation of the Caped Crusader, Ben Affleck's promotional trail for his current film - gangster drama Live By Night - has largely seen him fielding questions regarding upcoming standalone film The Batman - and he's done with it.

Firstly, he stated the script was looking good, then he suggested he hadn't started the script and that the film would only happen should the material be right. Following this, he confirmed last week that he was, in fact, making a standalone Batman movie but DC was taking its time (probably considering the negative reviews for both Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad).

It's now probably for the best that you stop asking him questions about it; speaking to Entertainment Tonight Canada, he revealed that having to constantly field these questions was "a pain in the ass."

Raising a fair point about Live By Night, the actor-director said: "When I was doing this movie it took me two years to get everything together but nobody ever asked me where [it was]."

He did use the opportunity to provide a definitive update on what's actually happening with The Batman, hopefully putting a full stop on the questions for some time.

"Batman's coming along - it's gonna be great, we're gonna make something really special, we're gonna do it the right way and the fans are going to love it."

Affleck stars in Live By Night alongside Sienna Miller, Chris Cooper and Elle Fanning - it's in cinemas now without the awkward sex scenes he was forced to direct from the finished product.
