Blade 4: Marvel working on new Blade film, according to Underworld's Kate Beckinsale
The actor dismissed the idea of an Underworld/Marvel crossover

Wesley Snipes’ first Blade movie is often overlooked when it comes to superhero films despite almost single-handedly rejuvenating the genre back in 1998.
In recent years, however, Marvel studios have reportedly been looking at rebooting the series, Snipes previously revealing he had “a really productive and a wonderful meeting [with Marvel] and we discussed a number of things,” in which they discussed the possibility of Blade 4.
Ever since, rumours surrounding the project have been hitting the internet, some hinting at a Netflix series, others about a film concerning Blade’s daughter, Fallon Grey.
Thanks to a rather surprising source - Kate Beckinsale - we have confirmation a Blade project is definitely in the works.
While appearing at New York Comic-Con to promote her upcoming film, Underworld: Blood Wars, the actor was asked whether there was any chance her character Selene and Snipes’s Blade would ever cross over.
“No. We had that idea,” she told the audience, according to SlashFilm. “No. They’re busy. They’re doing something with Blade.”
Moving swiftly past the idea of an Underworld/Marvel crossover, Beckinsale is surely confirming Blade’s appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the near future, Snipes or no Snipes?
Recently, Ghost Rider appeared in Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD and The Punisher in Marvel’s Daredevil; perhaps we can expect Blade to appear in another show/film before having his own.
Also at NYCC, Marvel’s Iron Fist panel was filled with exciting surprises, including a new trailer and confirmation Sigourney Weaver will be in The Defenders series.
