Deadpool: Ryan Reynolds spoofs Kanye's SNL rant

"I'm 50 percent more influential than MC Hammer"

You cannot accuse Ryan Reynolds of not throwing his heart and soul into the character of Deadpool.

Despite the film already being out there - and doing absolutely stellar work at the box office - Reynolds has reprised his role for a video to fans, poking fun at controversy-monger Kanye West in the process.

Reynolds referenced the leaked audio which heard the rapper have an apparent backstage meltdown ahead of his 13 February performance on Saturday Night Live.

The purpose of Reynolds' video was to address the fan-led petition that is currently attempting to get the actor to present the popular entertainment show, in character as the Marvel antihero. The petition has over 73,000 signatures.

“Listen up, Lorne Michaels,” he begins (Michaels being SNL's creator).

“SNL took my f***ing Life of Pablo album without asking. Now I’m bummed. That and Rip Taylor. Fake a**," he quipped, in reference to the rapper criticising Taylor Swift.

"I’ve got the biggest opening rated-R movie of all time. Are they f***ing crazy? I’m 50 percent more influential than MC Hammer, Apostle Judas Iscariot, the KIA Sorento. Ten percent more influential than Barbara Bush, the Muppets, Bob Newhart. 60 percent more influential than the iPhone 5, shredded cheese and Dr. Ruth. Seven percent less influential than the Urban Dictionary."

While the skit is filled with popular culture references that'll be funnier for an American audience, it's still quite nice to see Reynolds basking in the glory of what is evidently the role he was born to play.
