If Donald Trump was a protest vote motivated by right wing anger, allow me to present the more left-leaning (presumably) version of this: Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

Does the wrestler turned actor have the experience - or any attributes generally associated with politicians for that matter - necessary to be president? No. Would he look magnificent in a suit on the White House lawn throwing a ball so far for his obligatory presidential dog that it has no hope of retrieving it? Absolutely.

The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment (And Soon To Be Political Discourse) went on record as saying he “hasn’t ruled out” entering the political arena a few months ago, and in light of last week’s election he has doubled down on this.

Asked by Vanity Fair whether he is still considering running for office in the next election cycle, he said: “I wouldn’t rule it out. It would be a great opportunity to help people, so it’s possible. This past election shows that anything can happen.”

Maybe this is why Linda McMahon's in Trump's cabinet, to set up the storyline for a 2020 presidential election/wrestling pay-per-view hybrid.

The Rock and Donald Trump have never faced off in the ring; that honour went to Steve Austin, who delivered a “Stone Cold Stunner” to the president-elect at WrestleMania 23.

With celebrity and controversy now no longer an obstacle in getting to the White House, for better or worse, thousands have also called on Kanye West to make good on his promise to run in 2020.
