Han Solo film: Ron Howard shows off Lando Calrissian's many, many capes

Originally played by Billy Dee Williams, Donald Glover will take over the role for the prequel anthology film

Star Wars fans may have been left in a panic over the Han Solo film after the sudden firing of its directors, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, but we at least know the ship has been passed into steady hands.

Amongst other things, Ron Howard is especially good at knowing what he can and can't reveal about the highly-secretive project. So far, it's all been floors and coffee mugs, but the director pulled out a surprise sneak peek at some of the film's costumes.

"Care to guess whose closet this is?" he posted on Instagram and Twitter, attached to shots of a whole rack of colourful capes. Those, of course, could belong to none other than Lando Calrissian, one of the greatest cape-wearers of all time.

Played by Billy Dee Williams in the original trilogy, the part's now been taken over by the equally stylish Donald Glover.

He's set to star alongside Alden Ehrenreich's Han Solo, with the filming dialling back the years to look at the pair's younger days, with Lando famously losing the Millenium Falcon to Han in a game of sabacc. The film is also set to star Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, and Thandie Newton.

The untitled Han Solo film is set for release 25 May, 2018.
