Happy Christmas trailer: Anna Kendrick and Lena Dunham star in new Joe Swanberg movie

Indie director's latest film follows a hard-partying 20-something post-break up

Anna Kendrick has reunited with Drinking Buddies director Joe Swanberg for a new improv comedy called Happy Christmas.

The Pitch Perfect actress plays a party girl who moves in with a budding novelist and her film director husband (played by Swanberg himself) following a bad breakup.

The couple are soon irked by her wayward tendencies, especially when leaving her in charge with their infant son.

The beauty in Swanberg's largely improvised movies is in the dialogue and chemistry between the cast more than the plot, so it's hard to glean a lot from the trailer, but hopefully it's up to the standard of Drinking Buddies, which was the indie director's first foray into a larger budget movie with A-list actors, and a very confident one.

Kendrick will also star in Swanberg's upcoming Digging For Fire movie alongside Orlando Bloom, and next appears in Into The Woods and Pitch Perfect 2.

Happy Christmas has a release date of June 26 on iTunes worldwide and hits US cinemas the day before. No news yet on a UK theatrical release.
