Over 10 years after Warner Bros. initially announced they were working on a filmed adaptation of Justice League, the superhero blockbuster has finally reached cinemas.
Zack Snyder’s vision (with a helping hand from Joss Whedon) may not have been the critical success many hoped, but there’s still some excited online buzz.
There are — as those who have seen the film will know — two post-credit scenes, one mid-way though and one directly at the end.
So, what do they both mean? And how do they fit into the comics? Below, we analyse the two scenes. **Obligatory spoiler warning**
That mid-credits scene, featuring Ezra Miller and Henry Cavill’s The Flash and Superman racing against each other. The pair have faced off numerous times in the comics, the Flash often winning, but the pair sometimes drawing as well. Unfortunately, Snyder offered us no conclusive answer.
The post-credits scene — and more leading of the two — sees Lex Luthor, freed from prison, sitting on a yacht as Deathstroke approaches.
Not only do we see Deathstroke’s suit for the first time on the big screen, the character also removes his mask and an eye-patch wearing Joe Manganiello can be seen.
Luthor points out how Superman has returned and suggests they form “a league of their own”. Now, this could either refer to the Injustice Gang or Justice League Dark.
Injustice Gang makes the most sense, considering one of the comic-book version features Luthor, who fought alongside various villains including Joker, Ocean Master, Jemm, and Doctor Light.

However, a Justice League Dark movie has actually been announced as a movie: could Warner Bros. take that name but include a host of new villains? The original team featured John Constantine, Madame Xanadu, Deadman, Shade, the Changing Man, and Zatann.
Of course, they could just be setting up the Injustice Gang as the villains for Man of Steel 2, a movie Warner Bros. has reportedly been holding on officially announcing as to keep the mystery about the character appearing in Justice League.
