Martin Scorsese made a cameo in his daughter’s micro budget superhero film

He plays what looks like a fancy dress doctor

There must be few things in Hollywood as useful as having Martin Scorsese as your dad. Cathy Scorsese (assistant proper master on The Sopranos, Shutter Island, The Aviator, The Departed and Casino, property shopper on Boardwalk Empire) recently directed her first feature film, and, despite appearing to have a budget of about $40, its cast features Ray Liotta and Martin Scorsese himself.

Here’s the plot synopsis for Campus Code, which goes south pretty quickly:

‘The college experience - studying, dating, partying... but when one of their classmates disintegrates right before their eyes, Ari, Becca, Izzy, Greta and Arun must battle security, the Griefers and each other to uncover the incredible truth about themselves and this other-worldly campus before they are all eliminated.’

The trailer is a pretty cringe-inducing one-minute-and-44-seconds, and the superhero aspect is a bit ambitious given the aforementioned tiny budget.

Scorsese plays some sort of doctor, delivering a line in the trailer so flat it’s oddly Lynchian.

One Redditor commented, somewhat cruelly, of the 51-year-old's film: "Wow... you'd think daddy would step in and help out a little bit. At least just tell her to stop..."
