The much-beloved Orange Wednesdays cinema offer has been given its end date, so be sure to clear your diaries for plenty of film nights before then.
Mobile phone network EE announced last month that it would be bringing Orange Wednesdays to a close “early next year” and now that day of doom has been confirmed as Wednesday 25 February.

EE told the Mirror that from then forth, its 2 for 1 cinema tickets offer, and its Pizza Express offer (the one with the free doughballs) would be no more, at least not for the time being.
“Orange Wednesday launched over a decade ago and at its peak was a massive success and an iconic promotion,” an EE representative said in a statement in December.
“After 10 great years our brand has changed and our customers’ viewing habits have also evolved so it’s time to move on.”
The Orange Wednesdays offer was launched in 2003 by network Orange, which then merged with T-Mobile to form EE in 2010.
Those of you sobbing into your popcorn, there is some good news. EE has promised that an “exciting new offer” is heading our way in 2015, so “watch this space”.
