Oscars 2016 nominations live: When is the announcement, what time and how can I watch it online?

It’s Oscars nominations day, when Hollywood’s finest learn whether or not their latest films and performances are in the running for little gold men.

The good news is that just because most of us are flung around the world in places far less glamourous than Hollywood, we can still enjoy the excitement via a YouTube live stream of the announcement.

Directors Guillermo del Toro and Ang Lee will join actor John Krasinski and Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs to reveal the nominees at 5.30am PT, or 1.30pm GMT.

The first nominees announced will be those for film editing, original song, animated feature film, animated short film, live-action short film, documentary, visual effects, production design, sound editing and sound mixing.

Next up will be lead actor, lead actress, supporting actor, supporting actress, director, best picture, original screenplay, adapted screenplay, cinematography, original score, costume design, foreign language film and makeup and hairstyling.

The star-studded Oscars ceremony takes place on Sunday 28 February at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre.

Chris Rock is hosting for a second time after a first stint in 2005 when Million Dollar Baby won Best Picture.
