Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of Ernest Cline’s Ready Player One is hopefully going to be one of the cinematic highlights of 2018.

The story, primarily set in a virtual utopia called OASIS, focusses on a teenager’s quest to find the game’s hidden treasure, left behind by its founder.

As with everything on the internet, there are, of course, internet trolls in OASIS, the main story’s biggest having just been cast.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Silicon Valley and Deadpool star T.J. Miller will play i-R0k, the novel’s infamous internet annoyer who has such lines as "If I didn't spend so much time offline, getting laid I'd probably know just as much worthless sh*t as you two do.”

Miller joins the like of Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, Simon Pegg, Ben Mendelsohn and Mark Rylance in the star-studded film. Sheridan will play the lead character while Rylance will play OASIS’s Willy Wonker-esque founder.

Ready Player One is set to film this month, with a US release date of 30 March 2018, having moved from December 2017 thanks to Star Wars: Episode 8 being delayed.
