Widow meets a new man

David Slade will direct The Widow a psychological thriller written by Ray Wright, centring on a young woman who befriends a lonely widow only to discover that their encounter was not a coincidence. Slade's credits includes The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and backers hope he will help attract top female talent.

Uma moves in for the kill again

Uma Thurman always turns heads. Recently, she turned a few in Hollywood after switching agents.The Kill Bill actress signed with UTA after less than a year with WME. Having spent a "long stint" with CAA, her quick agency switch left folks wondering if the possibility of Kill Bill 3 might be speeded up as a result.

It's all mapped out for Mia

David Cronenberg's thriller Maps to the Stars is collecting an impressive cast as it negotiates its route to shoot. Mia Wasikowska, Olivia Williams and Evan Bird have joined Julianne Moore, John Cusack, Robert Pattinson and Sarah Gadon in the film billed as a ghost story and critique of celebrity-obsessed Los Angeles.

Redford joins Nolte on the trail

Robert Redford has decided to direct and act in A Walk in the Woods, opposite Nick Nolte. Based on Bill Bryson's book A Walk in the Woods: Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail, the movie will be touted to buyers by an outfit named IM Global. Redford might even appear in Cannes to talk it up.

Sanchez believes Bigfoot exists

The same company offering Owen as a philanderer on film is also looking to ink deals for horror-thriller Exists, directed by Eduardo Sanchez, friends who are stalked by the legendary Bigfoot. International Film Trust will debut the two yet-to-shoot projects while making its own first appearance on the French riviera.
