Spider-Man: Homecoming: Iron Man actor/director Jon Favreau joins cast
He joins Robert Downey Jr. on the film

As the weeks have gone on, the cast for Spider-Man: Homecoming has become quite substantial, the likes of Michael Keaton, Donald Glover, and Zendaya all joining the Marvel film.
Variety is now reporting that Jon Favreau - director of Iron Man and The Jungle Book - is set to reprise his role as Happy Hogan from the first Iron Man film.
Favreau last appeared as Hogan alongside Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man 3; Downey will also reprise his role as Iron Man in Homecoming. No official sources have commented on the story.
The John Watts directed film, starring Tom Holland as the MCU version of Peter Parker, is currently filming in Atlanta. Recently, Zendaya’s casting as Mary Jane Watson caused controversy, some fans expressing outrage online.
However, soon after speculation began over her role in the film, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn and Spider-Man creator Stan Lee both came out to defend the casting.
Meanwhile, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently detailed how Spider-Man: Homecoming will likely be inspired by the Harry Potter series.
