Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer gets whimsical Wes Anderson version

In a twee galaxy far, far away...

Wes Anderson once spoke about making a Star Wars film – a short focusing on a young Han Solo – that will probably never see the light of day.

Here's what it might have looked like though, courtesy of a fan who took the Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser and blasted it with Andersonian style points like overlayed text, bright colours and Parisian lounge music.

Star Wars becomes 'the Star Wars' in the trailer, with the plight of the Stormtroopers being told through a series of annotated Polaroids and the Sith figure being referred to as a "hooded ruffian".

" I have a feeling I would probably ultimately get replaced on the film because I don’t’ know if I have all the right action chops," the Grand Budapest Hotel director previously said in response to the idea of him taking over the franchise. "But at least I know the characters from the old films.

"I don’t think I would do a terrible job at a Han Solo backstory. I could do that pretty well. But maybe that would be better as a short."

The auteur's fondness for symmetry was celebrated in a fan-made Vimeo video recently, which demonstrated how perfectly and beautifully aligned his shots are.
