Jared Leto's onset shenanigans have taken centre stage of Suicide Squad's publicity wheel, but Joel Kinnaman is here to remind us the Joker wasn't the only one to let loose and get weird during filming.

Speaking to Digital Spy at the film's London premiere, the Rick Flag actor revealed one of his own fondest memories from the strange shoot. "My favourite was when David Ayer walked into Jai Courtney's trailer, and me and Jay Hernandez were in there," Kinnaman recalled. "Jai was in the shower and he came out with a towel around him! David was like, 'Oh sh*t!'"

"Jai dropped the towel - and Jay said, 'Sic him boy!' The director David just ran out and Jai chased him around the whole studio parking lot, butt-naked Terminator-style! David ran for his life - but he got away!"

At least Courtney's brief revisit to his days in Terminator Genisys had a happy ending; it certainly seems like the kind of shameless antics his Captain Boomerang character would get up to, and it's not the first we've heard of the actor going a little method for the role. Courtney previously revealed his research for the part involved self-inflicted burns.

Now, you only need to add that to the absolute catalogue of strange behaviour Leto's been assigned with committing; from the dead pig wheeled onto set by a henchman, to the gift of a black rat in a box handed to Margot Robbie - who plays the Joker's paramour, Harley Quinn, in the movie.

Then there's the mention Leto also sent his co-stars a bunch of anal beads and used condoms, claiming "the Joker is somebody who doesn’t really respect things like personal space or boundaries." Certainly sounds like an experience none of the cast is likely to forget anytime soon.

Will all of that effort pay off? We'll have to see how the box office numbers pan out, since the film's been met with quite the critical mauling; with some raging DC fans now petitioning to take down reviews aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.

Suicide Squad hits cinemas 5 August.
